OUR PROGRAMS
SAM’s House Emergency Shelter
Our seasonal shelter is open November 1 through April 30. SAM’s House provides temporary shelter for men, women, and families with children who are experiencing homelessness during the winter months. Guests are also provided with personal care items and meals to meet their basic needs.
Guest Check in is 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Guest Check out: 8:00 a.m. No pets are allowed in the shelter, but we will work with you to find a temporary home for your pet. In order to keep our guests, staff, and volunteers safe and secure we perform background checks, the following will result in denied entry to SAM's House: 1. Possession of Weapons, 2. Outstanding Warrants, 3. Conviction for Violent Crime, 4. Conviction for Sexual Crime. Please contact us if you are in need of assistance. We are here to help you even if you do not wish to stay in shelter.
Steps to Success
The Steps to Success Program is designed for SAM’s House guests. The program guides individuals who are homeless to community resources, including federal and state programs. It also expands into teaching life skills that will aid them to getting back on their feet and out of shelter to positive, permanent housing.
SAM25 Resource Center
Need help? We are available every Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. to provide information relative to employment, housing and other basic needs. This program is available to all community members who are in need of assistance.
SAM25 Community Health Clinic
Open Thursdays from 4 to 8 pm. SAM25 Community Health Clinic provides free basic healthcare and health education to area residents who do not have health insurance and are living near or below the Federal Poverty Level. Eye exams are available on the 3rd Monday of the month from 6 to 8 p.m. Assistance is provided in obtaining affordable health care insurance through the State or the Affordable Care Act.
