SAM25 performs background checks, the following will result in denied entry to SAM's House: Conviction of a Violent Felony within the last 7 years, conviction of a crime that is sexual in nature, and inability to self-care.

As the sole homeless shelter in Shawano County, SAM’s House provides temporary shelter for men, women, and families with children experiencing homelessness during the winter months. All guests are offered the opportunity to participate in our Steps to Success program, where they work one-on-one with our Resource Center Manager to develop and achieve individualized goals focused on stability and long-term success.

During our 2024-2025 Shelter Season, SAM25 provided 2,203 bed nights to 90 individuals (75 adults and 15 were children) and served 6,607 meals.
